The dorsal interosseous muscles are bipennate - like a feather that's barbed on both sides of the quill - each muscle has two heads and origin points on the two adjacent metacarpal bones, with the insertion points being the base of its proximal phalange and into the extensor expansion of the corresponding extensor digitorum tendon.
Unlike the dorsal interossei, the palmar interossei are unipennate - like a feather barbed of just one side of the quill - and only has one head and origin point which is the side of the metacarpal facing the midline, with the insertion points still being its proximal phalanx and extensor expansion.
Also, used for flexing the wrist and originating at the medial epicondyle of the humerus, it has a different insertion point.
Radioscaphocapitate Ligament originates from the radial styloid and the palmar lip of the radius bone and divides into three insertion points.
The second insertion point is part of the distal 'V' and inserts onto the distal pole of the scaphoid bone.
